答：若顯地體唯由四德，若論其地與德為依名有德者，有十四德，餘之十德非顯地故，故不言之亦不相違。餘水、火等皆准此釋。

Answer: If it is to reveal the entity of earth, it is solely by virtue of the four qualities. If one discusses earth as the substratum for qualities, being called 'possessing qualities', it has fourteen qualities; the remaining ten qualities do not serve to reveal [the distinctive nature of] earth, so omitting them is not contradictory. The rest, water, fire, and so forth, are all explained by this principle.
