One interpretation says: Whatever is eternal is unproduced; if it is impermanent, there are two kinds. Existent dharmas that are impermanent are all produced. The statement 'impermanent means unproduced' cannot be made, because that which is non-existent has no substantial entity and cannot be produced. It is only that what is not 'constantly non-existent' is called impermanent. The Commentary's claim that there is no statement of 'produced and unproduced' would seem to be mistaken.
