答：據實無作不生果等，皆是正因。真如自許不離識故，不成不定；然立因法不可雙陳，故論且舉常住為難。

Answer: In reality, being inactive, not producing an effect, and the like are all correct reasons. Because suchness is accepted by ourselves as not being separate from consciousness, it does not become inconclusive; however, in establishing the reason, both cannot be stated simultaneously, so the Treatise provisionally adduces permanence to pose the challenge.
