即論中云勿此亦非實、德、業，是非取上言實、德、業三。彼但總非，非量破故。言故別者，釋別當句為宗之義，意乃顯論中無總量理。

That is, in the treatise it says, "Lest this too would not be substance, quality, or motion," which means not taking the aforementioned three—substance, quality, and motion. That is merely a general negation, not a refutation by formal inference. The word "separately" explains the meaning of taking each corresponding category separately as the thesis, with the intention of showing that in the treatise there is no reason for a comprehensive inference.
