由許聲性常不能詮，下破之中，彼不得將聲性為喻，而與論主而作不定，故云無喻。有云：由此不得與大乘作法自相相違者。

Because they concede that the nature of sound is permanent and incapable of expressing meaning, in the refutation below they cannot use the nature of sound as an example to render [the proponent's argument] inconclusive against the author of the Treatise; hence it is said that there is no example. Some say: 'Due to this, one cannot produce a contradiction of the dharma's own nature against the Mahāyāna.'
