答：雖大種性內外無異，然有安立形相差別。有義：順世極微有其三類：一極精虛；二者清淨；三非虛、淨。所生之果亦有其三：一心、心所；二眼等根；三色、聲等，如其次第三因所生。

Answer: Although the nature of the great elements is not different internally and externally, there are differentiated established shapes and appearances. Another opinion holds: 'The infinitesimal atoms of the Lokāyata comprise three kinds: first, extremely subtle and empty; second, pure; third, neither empty nor pure. The results they produce also comprise three kinds: first, mind and mental factors; second, the eye and other sense faculties; third, matter, sound, and so forth; which are produced respectively by the three causes.'
