言三微者，第三子微。果即第七，第七之因即名為微，不名為極。所以總言，如所在因故不別言，如所在極微。極微之言，不通微故，極微、子微皆得名為所在因也。

By 'three atoms' is meant the third, the secondary atom. The result is the seventh; the cause of the seventh is merely named an atom (aṇu), not an infinitesimal atom (paramāṇu). Thus it speaks generally, saying 'like the cause in which it resides,' and does not specifically say 'like the infinitesimal atom in which it resides.' The word 'infinitesimal atom' does not encompass an atom; both infinitesimal atoms and secondary atoms can be named 'the cause in which it resides.'
