正義者，釋舊種生種類同新種生，於現行得名因緣。然據護法新舊合生，今者且隨不正答也。

The proponent of the orthodox view explains that what is generated by old seeds belongs to the same category as what is generated by new seeds, so in relation to the active manifestation it receives the name 'causal condition'. However, according to Dharmapāla, new and old seeds generate together; here, he provisionally adapts to make an answer that is not the ultimate one.
