按《勝鬘經》云：如來藏者，是法界藏、法身藏、出世間上上藏、自性清淨藏，此自性清淨如來藏，而客煩惱、上煩惱所染。
According to the Śrīmālādevī-sūtra: 'The tathāgatagarbha is the garbha of the dharmadhātu, the garbha of the dharmakāya, the supreme supramundane garbha, and the garbha naturally pure; yet this naturally pure tathāgatagarbha is defiled by adventitious afflictions and secondary afflictions (upakleśa).'
