2.55

論中意明五根但是內識變現，為下自明五塵境故。然有對言及內識變義該根、境，疏主因敘諸宗五塵，不說此文是明塵也。故總結云心外有對，前已遮破，故此諸根但是內識之所變現。

The intent in the Treatise is to clarify that the five faculties are merely transformations of internal consciousness, in order to subsequently clarify of its own accord the five sense fields. However, the phrase "having resistance" and the meaning of "transformation of internal consciousness" apply across both faculties and fields. Because the author of the Commentary recounts the five fields of the various schools, he does not say that this passage clarifies the fields. Therefore, he concludes in general that what has resistance outside the mind has already been refuted previously; hence, these faculties are merely the transformations of internal consciousness.
