名、句二種為彰為顯，顯彰自性差別義故。文為所依，從能依說稱為彰顯。有說：文體即名彰顯，以能詮彼名、句二故，能詮即是彰顯義也。

Names and sentences manifest and illuminate, because they illuminate and manifest intrinsic nature and differentiation. Phonemes serve as their support; following what is supported, they are called 'illuminating'. Some say: the entity of a phoneme is itself called 'illuminating', because it can designate names and sentences; being designative is itself the meaning of illuminating.
