此薩婆多所以名麁。若纏是現行，現行纏與隨眠之義而不相應。言隨眠者，隨逐有情眠伏不起，若現行纏不相續故，非眠伏故。故與隨眠名之及義，皆不相應。

This is why the Sarvāstivāda [position] is termed 'coarse': if the active defilements (paryavasthāna) are active manifestations, active defilements do not correspond with the meaning of dormant tendencies (anuśaya). As for 'dormant tendencies' (anuśaya), they follow sentient beings while dormant and unarisen; because active defilements are not continuous and are not dormant, they correspond neither to the name nor to the meaning of dormant tendencies.
