答：由前外難，若無實我，云何世間及諸聖教說有我、法？前答彼云：我、法熏習諸識生時變似我、法，為此故取熏習識位。

Answer: Due to the earlier external objection: 'If there is no real self, why do worldly conventions and the sacred teachings speak of the existence of self and phenomena?' Earlier it was answered to them: 'When the various consciousnesses arise from the perfuming of self and phenomena, they transform into the semblance of self and phenomena.' For this reason, one takes the stage of the perfumed consciousness.
