佛種不依異熟識故。又佛五根亦是善也，取不成喻，所以除也。能依之識與所依眼而性不同，種及異熟其義亦爾，故言齊也。

Because the Buddha's seeds do not rely on a vipāka consciousness. Moreover, the Buddha's five sense faculties are also wholesome, so taking them would fail to provide a proper analogy; hence they are excluded. The consciousness that relies and the eye faculty upon which it relies differ in moral nature; the seeds and vipāka are likewise in meaning, so they are said to be equal.
