自古諸德多為此計。此論明簡，故知古非。馬鳴菩薩亦言真如受熏持種，恐譯者誤。

From ancient times, many masters held this view. This Treatise clearly excludes it; hence we know the ancients were mistaken. Bodhisattva Aśvaghoṣa also stated that True Suchness receives perfuming and holds bījas, which is likely an error of the translators.
