雖彼種上有多別能，謂即是善及於廣大。廣大之能同識無記，故能緣之。廣大即功能，即種子也。

Although on that seed there are many distinct functions, namely being wholesome and being vast; the vast function is avyākṛta like the consciousness, and therefore [the consciousness] can cognize it. The vast is precisely the function, which is precisely the seed.
