The text of the Treatise already speaks of the existence of mind and mental factors, but merely states that when taking an object they lack the aspect capable of cognizing; therefore one knows that it refutes the various masters solely on the basis of conventional truth. As for the claim by all that Bhavya maintains "there are images but no vision": this does not rely on his school's tenets, for he expounds vijñapti-mātra on the basis of conventional truth. Because within conventional truth, although mind and objects both exist, concealing the inferior and revealing the superior is called vijñapti-mātra.
