詳曰：言緣長等為據別緣，為約長等不離青等，緣青等時義言緣之。若義言緣，疏已明訖；若別緣者，如何第八因緣變耶？亦不可以佛地為證，淨穢異故。

Deliberation: Does saying "conditioning length and so forth" refer to conditioning them distinctly, or is it based on length and so forth not being separate from blue and so forth, so that when conditioning blue and the like, it is said by implication to condition them? If it is by implication, the Commentary has already clarified it; if they are conditioned distinctly, how could the eighth [consciousness] transform via causal conditions? Nor can one use the Buddhabhūmi as proof, because pure and defiled are different.
