答：器為依持，但變同地；種即不爾，為境通緣。又三界種隨能變識所在之界，故得緣之；器乃不然，何得相例？

Answer: The receptacle serves as a support, so it is transformed only for the same bhūmi. Seeds are not like that; serving as objects, their cognition extends universally. Furthermore, the seeds of the three realms conform to the realm in which the transforming consciousness resides, and thus it can cognize them. The receptacle is not like that; how could they be treated as analogous?
