由若不許緣異界境天眼、耳根與八繫別，第八不持，故應爛壞。若爾，何名有情？

Because if one does not accept that they cognize the objects of a different realm, the divine eye and ear faculties would have a binding distinct from the eighth consciousness; the eighth consciousness would not maintain them, and therefore they would rot and decay. If so, how could they be called sentient beings?
