答：雖俱時起，力用不同，所變有差，而亦何變？又無漏心必有定、道俱時而起，相應一思，對此兩種，名定、道戒，以二助思，有遮防故。今定、通二雖復同時，所起色等，對能起二，名為定、通，同戒何失？

Answer: Although they arise at the same time, their power and function differ, so there is a difference in what is transformed; what transformation is there [that causes difficulty]? Furthermore, the uncontaminated mind necessarily has meditative concentration and the path arising simultaneously; a single associated cetanā, relative to these two, is named 'concentration discipline' and 'path discipline,' because with these two assisting cetanā, it has the function of preventing and warding off. Now, although concentration and supernormal power are simultaneous, the form and so forth produced are named 'concentration' and 'supernormal power' relative to the two that can produce them; just like discipline, what fault is there?
