此明心所雖有功能，然分限定。受但領觸可意等相，而不領觸生作意等，觸但似三而不自似。又受言領觸，此觸取於可意等事，而不似觸而生於受及作意等。

This clarifies that although mental factors have functional capacities, their boundaries are delimited. Feeling merely experiences the agreeable and other marks of contact, but does not experience contact producing attention and so forth; contact merely resembles the three, but does not resemble itself. Moreover, feeling is said to experience contact when this contact apprehends agreeable and other matters, rather than feeling resembling contact in producing feeling, attention, and so forth.
