現在與果而由於滅，過既與果應更須滅。若無滅者障彼果生，何名與果？又復與現有相例失，若許有滅，滅復滅失，故《成業》云應滅復滅。

The present gives the fruit due to cessation; since the past gives the fruit, it would also need to cease again. If it lacks cessation, it would obstruct the arising of that fruit, so how could it be called giving the fruit? Furthermore, it would have the fault of being parallel to the present; if cessation is permitted, then there would be the fault of cessation ceasing again. Therefore, the Karmasiddhi says that it would cease and cease again.
