即第一師舉例質也。初地聖教名不退故，故知不退不約賴耶捨、不捨說。

This is the first master presenting an analogy to cross-examine. Because the sacred teaching names the first bhūmi "non-retrogressing" (avaivartika), we therefore know that non-retrogression is not spoken of in terms of abandoning or not abandoning the ālaya.
