不取染法以為能藏，意明不取八為所藏。染法能藏，唯因等者，釋所以也。此文即以執藏、能藏二義釋藏。

Not taking defiled dharmas as 'capable of storing' means clarifying that it does not take the eighth [consciousness] as 'that which is stored'. That defiled dharmas are capable of storing solely as causes, and so forth, explains the reason. This passage precisely explains 'store' (ālaya) through the two meanings of 'grasped store' and 'capable of storing'.
