此釋伏難。難方：若任運生即能執受，第七應爾，故此文生。由第七識有覆無記非先業引，故現緣生不名能執。

This resolves a latent objection. The objection goes: If what is produced spontaneously is capable of appropriation, the seventh should also be so; hence this text arises. Because the seventh consciousness is obstructed-unspecified (nivṛtāvyākṛta) and not induced by prior karma, its arising from present conditions is not called being capable of appropriation.
