問：所熏種為一為二？設爾何失？若唯一種，云何生慮、非慮二耶？七相八見，有差別故。若熏二種，能熏既一，種云何二？

Question: Is the perfumed bīja one or two? Suppose either, what fault ensues? If it is only one bīja, how can it produce both the cogitative and the non-cogitative? For the nimitta[-bhāga] of the seventh and the darśana[-bhāga] of the eighth are different. If it perfumes two bījas, since the perfuming agent is one, how can the bījas be two?
