無著《攝論》云：設和合識即是意識，為此和合意識即是一切種子識。為依止此識，所生餘意識是一切種子識。若此和合識是一切種子識，即是阿賴耶識，汝以異名立為意識。

Asaṅga's Mahāyānasaṃgraha says: 'Suppose the concordant consciousness is precisely mental consciousness: is this concordant mental consciousness the consciousness of all seeds, or is the other mental consciousness that arises relying on this consciousness the consciousness of all seeds? If this concordant consciousness is the consciousness of all seeds, it is precisely the ālayavijñāna, which you designate as mental consciousness under a different name.'
