此釋外難總標無違，即次下言從前念等顯無違理。外難意云：頌言境色，長行色識，而色是同。境、識河漢，長行釋頌，一何矛楯。

This explains the external objection, generally indicating non-contradiction; that is, the statement immediately below, 'from the preceding moment...', clarifies the principle of non-contradiction. The intention of the external objection is: 'The verse speaks of the objective form, while the prose speaks of the form-consciousness, yet the form is identical. Objective realm and consciousness are as distant as the Milky Way; how contradictory the prose explanation is in commenting on the verse!'
