答：有義兩釋。一云依教難彼，不就宗責，《瑜伽》等說眼等為識俱依故。二此難救家，救家雖假以種為根，至實自許根、識同時，故難無失。

Answer: There are two explanations of this meaning. One says that the objection refutes him based on the teachings, not by challenging his tenet directly, because the Yogācārabhūmi and other texts state that the eye and so forth are simultaneous bases (sahabhū-āśraya) for consciousness. Second, this refutes the defender: although the defender nominally takes seeds as the faculty, in reality he himself accepts that faculty and consciousness are simultaneous; therefore, the objection is flawless.
