答：夫開導者，前開其路，引後令生。今避其途，是施功已，由斯後起而無見遮。縱曰長時，固亦無咎，不同於彼過去為緣，過去法無，緣義焉立？

Answer: In opening and guiding, the preceding one opens the path and guides the subsequent one, causing it to arise. Here, clearing its path constitutes the completion of its function; due to this, the subsequent one arises without hindrance. Even if it is a long period, there is certainly no fault. It is not like their past serving as a condition: when past dharmas are non-existent, how could the meaning of a condition be established?
