即《瑜伽論》六十三云：「末那名意，於一切時執我、我所，及我慢等思量為性。」又按《對法》第二云：「意者，謂一切時緣阿賴耶識思度為性，與四煩惱恒相應，謂我見、我愛、我慢、無明。」准《對法論》無我、我所，但可證意之所緣也。

Namely, the Yogācārabhūmi, fascicle sixty-three, states: "Manas is called 'thought' (manas); at all times it grasps the self and what belongs to the self, and its nature is cogitation along with self-pride and so forth." Also, according to the Abhidharmasamuccaya-bhāṣya, fascicle two, it states: "'Manas' means that at all times its nature is cogitating, taking the ālayavijñāna as its object; it is constantly associated with four afflictions: self-view, self-love, self-pride, and ignorance." According to the Abhidharmasamuccaya-bhāṣya, it does not mention 'what belongs to the self'; it only proves what serves as the object of manas.
