釋前師難。前師難云：不正知者謂起外門能發惡業，豈第七識能有此事不正知俱？故今會云彼約六識，非據第七。

This explains the previous master's objection. The previous master objected: Incorrect knowing means initiating outward gates and being able to generate evil karma; how could the seventh consciousness possess this matter and be associated with incorrect knowing? Therefore it is now harmonized: that pertains to the six consciousnesses, not the seventh.
