According to fascicle 58 of that text: 'What are called secondary afflictions? They are established briefly by four characteristics: 1. arising throughout all unwholesome thoughts, namely lack of shame and lack of embarrassment; 2. arising throughout all defiled thoughts, namely heedlessness, etc.; 3. arising in distinct unwholesome thoughts, the ten minor secondary afflictions, which, when one arises, definitely lack a second; 4. arising in wholesome, unwholesome, and indeterminate thoughts, namely the four indeterminate ones.' The four indeterminate dharmas are also called secondary afflictions in the Yogācārabhūmi. Since heedlessness and the other ten are said to be omnipresent defilements, it is clear that the seventh has indeterminate afflictions.
