外䠱前難故此釋之。外難意云：若緣事疑是煩惱者應非見斷，見斷唯是迷理惑故，答意易詳。

The opponent pressed the previous objection, and therefore this is explained. The opponent's objection meant: If doubt taking factual events as object were an affliction, it ought not to be abandoned by vision, because what is abandoned by vision is only the confusion that errs concerning principle. The intention of the answer is easily understood.
