按《無性論》牒本論云，此意染污故有覆無記性，與四煩惱常共相應。如色、無色二廛煩惱，是其有覆無記性攝，色、無色廛為奢摩他所攝藏故。此意一切時微細隨逐故，釋三界者有情所歸所集之所，猶彼市廛，而梵云阿縛遮羅。

Consulting Asabhāva's commentary quoting the root treatise, it says: Because this manas is defiled, its nature is veiled-indeterminate, and it is constantly associated with the four afflictions. It is like the afflictions belonging to the domains of the form and formless realms, which are subsumed under the veiled-indeterminate, because the domains of the form and formless realms are sheltered and gathered by śamatha. This manas at all times subtly pursues [them]. Explaining the three realms: the place to which sentient beings return and gather is like a marketplace (chán), and in Sanskrit it is called avacara.
