此中徵意。若不許斷而違其理，若隨所緣亦名斷者，如何論云與有頂地下下煩惱一時頓斷？先已斷故，何名頓斷耶？

This is the intention of the inquiry: If one does not admit severance, it violates principle; if following the object it is also called severed, why does the treatise say that it is severed all at once simultaneously with the lowest-of-the-lowest afflictions of the peak-of-existence plane? Since it was already severed before, how could it be called severed all at once?
