詳曰：解解脫義名《解脫經》，於理為勝。故經頌云：若解脫諸惑等，故諸經論從其所說以立名者，其類寔繁。若不爾者，凡是經名是如來建，或集法立，豈佛、阿難據後零落而立斯號？若後人立名，亦為未可，便合經因難為楷准。

I examine this and say: Explaining the meaning of liberation (vimukti) leads to the title Vimukti-sūtra, which is logically superior. Thus the sūtra verse says: 'If liberated from all afflictions, etc.' Therefore, the instances where various sūtras and treatises take their titles from what they expound are truly numerous. Were it not so, all sūtra titles are established by the Tathāgata, or established during the compilation of the Dharma; would the Buddha or Ānanda establish this title based on later fragmentation? If later people established the title, that too is unacceptable, as it would cause the origins of the sūtra to be difficult to take as a standard.
