答：由根損故，令初眼識而不分明，而後意識見有錯亂，故舉壞意證眼識變。

Answer: Because the faculty is impaired, it causes the initial eye-consciousness to be indistinct, and the subsequent mental consciousness consequently has erroneous perception; therefore, citing the impaired mind proves the transformation of the eye-consciousness.
