三根、精進頌隣次言，名為合說。四俱為依，立捨等故。不爾，不悟四皆為依，名理須合。
The three roots and vigor being stated adjacent to one another in the verse is called 'combined statement'. Because all four are bases for establishing equanimity and the rest. Otherwise, one would not realize that all four are bases; hence it is said that 'logically they must be combined.'
