按《顯揚》第一，信業有五云：斷不信障為業、能得菩提資糧圓滿為業、利益自他為業、能趣善道為業、增長淨信為業。後之四種，此樂善攝，為樂於善，方起四故。

Examining fascicle 1 of the Prakaraṇāryavācā, faith has five activities: severing the hindrance of lack of faith as its activity, attaining the complete provisions for bodhi as its activity, benefiting oneself and others as its activity, being able to proceed toward the wholesome destinies as its activity, and increasing pure faith as its activity. The latter four are subsumed under this 'having joy in the wholesome', because it is due to finding joy in the wholesome that one then gives rise to these four.
