答：是佛法者談彼外道，計我差別，有斯不同？令學者知說斯言也，亦非外道自說計我有二十等句之差別也。皆內談外，為令遍知，有棄捨故。

Answer: It is that followers of the Buddha's Dharma, in discussing those non-Buddhists' conceptualisations of the differences regarding the self, pointed out these distinctions. They uttered these words to let scholars know; it is not that the non-Buddhists themselves stated that their conceptualisations of the self had distinctions such as the twenty propositions. These are all internal discussions of the external, meant to cause comprehensive knowledge so that there would be abandonment.
