答：外道極知不逾八十，彼入時，心望後出心隔五百劫，故不能憶，中五百劫而無心故，復何所憶？由此猶執生。

Answer: The utmost knowledge of non-Buddhists does not exceed eighty [kalpas]. The mind upon entering [the non-conceptual absorption] is separated from the subsequent exiting mind by five hundred kalpas, so they cannot remember it. In the middle five hundred kalpas there is no mind, so what could they remember? Therefore, they still cling to [causeless] arising.
