此有二意：一、顯後非，如色界等煩惱無記，體有九品，九品別斷，我見九品何一品除，除既一品，明無九類？二、明後是，如上界惑體雖無記得有九品，我見九品亦復何違？又，今《疏》斷且隨一相，《疏》上、下文皆以九品為類說也。

This has two meanings. First, it shows the latter is wrong: just as the afflictions of the form realm and above are indeterminate and their substances have nine grades, severed separately in nine grades, why should the nine grades of the view of selfhood be removed in a single grade? Since they are removed in a single grade, it is clear there are not nine categories. Second, it explains the latter is correct: just as afflictions of higher realms, though indeterminate in substance, can have nine grades, how would nine grades of the view of selfhood conflict? Furthermore, the Commentary's conclusion here provisionally follows one aspect, whereas both earlier and later in the Commentary it speaks of them categorially as having nine grades.
