答：有二釋：一云：緣所受境，聞說法等，亦得名聞；二云：眠但有思，文中總舉非顯眠位得名聞也。今取前釋。

Answer: There are two explanations. The first says: Taking perceived objects such as hearing the teaching of Dharma as its object, it can also be called hearing. The second says: Sleep only has thinking; the text mentions them collectively without indicating that the stage of sleep attains the designation of hearing. We now adopt the former explanation.
