論：若言無所緣相者，豈不濫彼相分無耶？有相濫失故無為善。但見前文有識相言，便謂第二亦合有相，二文全別不可例同。

[On the Treatise's passage]: 'If one were to speak of the "absence of an ālambana's nimitta", would that not be confused with the absence of the nimitta-bhāga? Because there is the fault of confusing the nimitta, it is better to omit it.' Merely seeing the phrase 'nimitta of consciousness' in the preceding text, one then assumes that the second [phrase] should also include 'nimitta'; but the two passages are entirely different and cannot be treated alike by analogy.
