語依是體，說因是義，由語體上有能詮義，即以語依而為說因，不同眼識依根別有，不同得等依法假施。

The basis of speech is the substance, and the cause of expression is the meaning. Because there is the meaning of being an expressive sign upon the substance of speech, the basis of speech itself is taken as the cause of expression; unlike the visual consciousness which exists separately based on the organ, and unlike acquisition and the rest which are imputed designations based on dharmas.
