此意說云：辨心、心所具五依處，謂無間滅至士用處；辨餘色等除前三依，但取後二，後二通能辨色、心果。異熟既是有漏果收，何得不依作用士用？由斯義准可依六處。

This means: in differentiating mind and mental factors, they possess five bases, namely from the immediately lapsed up to the virile base; in differentiating other matter and so forth, excluding the first three bases, one takes only the latter two; the latter two can both accomplish material and mental results. Since vipāka is subsumed under contaminated results, how could it not rely on the functional and the virile [bases]? By this reasoning, it can tentatively rely on six bases.
