答：本末皆攝能、所緣二，二取故有。或本為所取，末為能取，末緣於本，熏本種故。據容有說，取言通於緣、執二種，故無違故。

Answer: Root and branch both encompass the two—the grāhaka and ālambana—and therefore the two graspings exist. Alternatively, the root is the grāhya and the branch is the grāhaka, because the branch conditions the root and perfurmes the root bīja. This is spoken according to possibility; the word 'grasping' applies to both conditioning and clinging, and therefore there is no contradiction.
