言此識者，中際識也；後際名色，名曰當來，由中際識能引後際名色支故，故名色種逐彼識也。

The expression 'this consciousness' refers to the consciousness of the intermediate period. The name-and-form of the subsequent period is called 'the future.' Because the consciousness of the intermediate period can project the link of name-and-form of the subsequent period, the seeds of name-and-form pursue that consciousness.
